MISS TEEN USA Pageant

On Friday, Hilary Cruz of Colorado was crowned MISS TEEN USA 2007. Tiffany was not called into the Top 15, which still baffles me, but we all know what a fabulous young lady she is, and that she did her absolute best at this pageant.

Placement at Nationals does NOT define the success of any titleholder, and I just want to reiterate how PROUD we all are of Tiffany! At the Coronation Ball, she had a HUGE smile on her face, was posing for photos and having fun with her friends and family. At one point in the evening, she told me she was having the best time! Now that's an attitude we should all aspire to embrace, and one that Tiffany has always had!

Courtney Barnas, Miss Arizona USA 2007, came to Pasadena to support her little sister sporting a chic new haircut! As soon as I get some photos, I'll post them of our Arizona titleholders.

I also have to say that the AZ contingency came PREPARED! Photo signs, AZ signs, electronic signs, and loud cheers for our girl. Tiffany will always be our queen!

Thanks to EVERYONE for your support of Tiffany over the last couple of weeks. She has two months before crowning her successor, and I know she will make the most of them! In the meantime, she has started her classes at Scottsdale Community College and is getting her future in order. Blessings to all!!!

Tomorrow's the BIG DAY!!!

Wow--I can't believe that tomorrow night is the pageant! Tiffany is in REALLY good spirits, in spite of the long TV rehearsals. She will be on Channel 12 tomorrow morning--not sure of the time, but probably before the Today Show--doing an interview with Ch 12, Mario Lopez and MISS TEEN USA 2006, Katie Blair! Be sure to be watching Channel 12 in the morning!

Tomorrow there is the TV Dress Rehearsal at 11am, then I'll get to see Tiffany for a few minutes before she goes in to Hair/Makeup. The Telecast starts at 5pm PST tomorrow afternoon, so it can be broadcast live on the East Coast. I'll be texting a few people during the telecast to let them know if Tiffany makes the Top 15! No matter what happens, it will be an exciting conclusion. I can't tell you how proud I am that Tiffany is representing Arizona. She is such a delight; an intelligent, sensitive, FUN young lady with EVERYTHING going for her! I am very blessed to have her as my titleholder. Tiffany, girl, you're AMAZING!

Don't forget to watch NBC tomorrow morning for Tiffany's interview, and again at 7pm Arizona Time for the MISS TEEN USA Pageant!!!!!

Today, in addition to reharsals, the girls taped their intro for Friday's telecast. Don't forget to watch NBC Friday (Channel 12 in Phoenix, 7pm!) for the MISS TEEN USA Pageant!

Tomorrow Tiffany has a special taping; she was one of 12 contestants chosen to do an Interview/promo with the MISS TEEN USA Pageant Host, Mario Lopez! When I get more info on that I'll be sure to post it!

Prelims!

Wow--what a night! Tonight was the Presentation Show...Prelim SS and EG competitions. I arrived in Pasadena this afternoon, got to see dress rehearsal and talk to Tiffany for a few minutes. All of you who asked me to give her a BIG hug--I gave her your hugs! Then she had to go for hair/makeup, so the next time I saw her was the show! She has such an amazing personality and the ability to show that onstage, whether she's dancing or competing. I am SO PROUD of Tiffany! Hopefully we'll have photos to show you in the next day or so.

The rest of the week is filled with rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals; so Tiffany will REALLY need your comments to boost her spirits! Tiffany's Fadil!!!

Day 3!

This morning the girls did their group swimsuit photo. Right now they're having their Orientation, and the rest of the day will be rehearsals from 10a - 5p. Tonight is the welcome dinner.

While Tiffany has her camera, her laptop won't get to her until the 18th, so we'll have to wait for the candid photos she's taking. However, I will do my best to get photos of her prior to Saturday!

Tiffany's taking Pasadena by storm!!

I just got off the phone with Tiffany, and let me tell you--a full day of fittings, makeup, photoshoots and registration did NOT slow her down AT ALL!!! Our favorite teen is still bubbly, energetic and having the time of her life.

First of all, her luggage made it with her! We were joking that since she is so efficient and had everything in two suitcases (yes, only TWO!), it would be her luck that her shoe bag made it but not the clothes! I think I added a wee bit of stress to her 1 hour flight! :) But everything is there, safe and sound. She is rooming with Montana, Chelsea Nelson, and they are already fast friends! She has also been able to spend time with Mississippi and Nevada and really likes them both.

She got her competition swimsuit, and said they had a choice of pink, orange or yellow. All of the suits have the pink/orange/yellow colors on both the top and bottom in a band but the suits are mostly a solid color (hers is orange). They also got their opening number outfits from YMI Jeans; choice of turquoise, pink or white jeans shorts and a YMI tank top (her shorts are turquoise) and a whole lot of more YMI stuff! Not to mention the plethora of CHI products she also received. Mom, be sure to bring an empty suitcase when you come to Pasadena!

She had her swimsuit and evening gown photos today, had a chance to pick her favorites, and from those she picked, MUO will choose the ones that go on the website. She also completed her internet interview. She's been busy! She has her Fadil Berisha photo shoot in the morning, and said they're wearing YMI stuff for that photo. As soon as her photos are available, I'll post them here and on our MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/missarizonateenusa).

The contestants have not yet received a schedule for their 12 days in Pasadena; as soon as Tiffany gets one, I'll be sure to let you know what they'll be doing (other than rehearsals, of course!).

It's almost time!

Tiffany leaves for Pasadena on Sunday, and although she's mentally ready to be there, we still have some final things to take care of before she goes. Today she picked up her gown from alterations (it fits like a GLOVE!), got her already beautiful white teeth Zoom whitened at Dr. Trent Smallwood's office, and will have the final touchups on her hair with Tyler and Andy at Zolton's salon. We'll also be picking up her AWESOME flip flops for the Fadil Berisha photo shoot from Palooka Boutique tomorrow. With all of these preparations, I want to be sure to highlight the best part of all of this -- TIFFANY! She is such an incredible young lady, and everything MISS TEEN USA should be! She's beautiful, smart, fun, friendly, outgoing, responsible, motivated, kind and an all-around good kid! (I can say "kid" since I'm so much older than she is!) She has a good head on her shoulders, and she's done everything she can to be her best for this competition. But, just as critical is that she's continued her LIFE preparation. She's registered for her college classes, and if she doesn't win MISS TEEN USA, she's ready to pursue her degree! I'm so proud of her, and all Arizonans should also be proud to have Tiffany represent the best our teenagers have to offer.

Sunday, July 30th was Tiffany's official send-off party. Friends and family joined together to celebrate Tiffany's hard work and showered her with gifts and well-wishes. She leaves for the MISS TEEN USA Pageant in Pasadena on August 12th!
